Initial Evaluation
We begin all new clients with a comprehensive evaluation of your dog’s temperament and unique living situation. The initial evaluation is one of the most critical phases of our training process, as it serves as the diagnostic assessment and benchmark for all the training that follows. We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; instead, we perform a deep dive into the “why” behind a dog’s behavior to create a customized roadmap for lasting success.
We will also discuss your specific training goals to determine a structured approach to achieve your desired results. This personalized approach allows us to address your immediate priorities, whether you are seeking to solve complex behavioral issues or simply looking to provide your dog with clearer direction.
We will evaluate:
-
Lifestyle & home dynamics
-
Dogs interactions with its owners
-
Daily routine & Exercise
-
Specific triggers
-
Environmentals
-
Motivations & Drives
-
And more!
Understanding the context of the behavior is just as important as the behavior itself. We listen to your experiences to identify and address root causes rather than symptoms.
During the evaluation, we will also go over understanding K9 behavior. You will learn instincts, drives, reading your canine, socialization (dog and human), proper feeding techniques, walking, exercise, play, pack order, and canine communication. Following the initial evaluation, trainers will recommend either continuing with private training sessions or group classes depending on you and your dog’s needs.
